Fitzroy! Kids first backpack (3 nights, 24 miles) El Chalten, Argentina
We decided to take the kids on there first backpacking trip. We really wanted to share the magical place where I asked Tina to marry me. We were not sure how it was going to go with the distances and given the potential for Patagonia weather. Luckily we hit the weather just perfect. Super clear days with little to no wind. Well, the hike out we got blown down the trail but the bad weather didn't hit until we were eating ice cream and drinking good coffee in town. The kids did awesome, were super positive and had a blast. Was an amazing adventure and was really special to be able to share it with them. We got to see some amazing peaks, glaciers, lakes, and rivers. Even getting to swim in one of them since it was so calm and warm. One of the trip highlights so far for sure. Not to mention we got to rest in town for several days afterward enjoying good food, great wine, coffee, and ice cream. (we left the kids in the RV with a move and went out to dinner a few nights) I think I have a new favorite town, El Chalten, we'll be back.
